Lapdogs of the Bourgeoisie

Taking place between 2006–09, Lapdogs of the Bourgeoisie was a multi-city exhibition organised by Nav Haq and Tirdad Zolghadr that examined the role of class in contemporary art. We were commissioned to design a book marking the end of the exhibition’s three-year tour. Drawing upon the wealth of material that resulted from these exhibitions, we collected pre-existing texts in a spiral-bound mini-archive, retaining the design of individual pages, to present a cumulative experience of the exhibition. New texts, designed to convey a bourgeois sensibility and printed on yellow paper, punctuate the book’s flow.
