In 2010, Zak Group partner Zak Kyes received the INFORM Award For Conceptual Design, the annual accolade presented to graphic designers who develop a practice within the context of applied and contemporary art. The award was marked by a solo show – Zak Kyes Working With…, which originated at the Museum for Contemporary Art Leipzig, and then travelled to the Architectural Association (London), the Graham Foundation (Chicago) and Tensta Konsthall (Stockholm), where it concluded in 2013. Curated by Barbara Steiner, the exhibition shows works by Kyes, as well as a cast of studio collaborators from various disciplines. It presents contemporary graphic design as a practice that mediates and is mediated by allied disciplines. The exhibition catalogue, designed by Wayne Daly and published by Sternberg Press, includes further contributions by Richard Birkett, Andrew Blauvelt, Edward Bottoms, Maria Lind and Markus Miessen, among others.
