On the occasion of Anne Imhof’s exhibition “EMO” at Sprüth Magers in Los Angeles, Zak Group designed a typeface and iconography for a series of collectibles released by Dover Street Market. The EMO typeface combines the artist's hand-drawn sketches with the geometry of Walter Haettenschweiler’s display typography. A crest featuring bone-like lettering, and an innuendo to a middle finger, is a spirited ode to rugged individualism and the Americana oeuvre. The collection is styled and designed by Marc Goehring; produced by Reference Studios; and photographed and modeled by Hannah Rettl, Levi Strasser, Jakob Eilinghoff, Casper von Bülow. The iconography is also visible in a selection of artworks in the exhibition, the artist’s largest presentation of work in the United States.
