Zak Group has designed and developed the new website of Studio Nauta, an architectural practice based in Rotterdam. With a strong focus on text, the website foregrounds writing, statements and titles as over visual material – breaking conventions for the digital representation of architecture.

The homepage contains a bold menu that functions as the backdrop for a stream of images, news and statements. Projects are selected from a text-only list of descriptive titles such as House by the Lake, School Amongst the Trees or Office in a Shipyard. By hovering over project titles the cursor reveals a secondary image layer with project previews.
