On the occasion of Christian Marclay’s solo exhibition at the Centre Pompidou, Zak Group was commissioned to design the exhibition catalogue. With sampling, shuffling and montage taking centre stage, the practice of Swiss–American artist Christian Marclay has been anchored in the universe of sound since the end of the 1970s. Conceived in collaboration with the artist, the cover of the publication translates the concept of sound through a laser-cut version of Marclay’s photographic work Sounds Holes. The publication features new essays, a comprehensive conversation with Marclay and an anthology of texts, as well as an exhaustive chronology. Christian Marclay is co-published by JRP|Editions and Éditions du Centre Pompidou.
