As part of our ongoing collaboration with Astrup Fearnley Museet, we designed the campaign and printed matter for Chinese Summer, a major group exhibition of contemporary Chinese art. Our bilingual visual identity draws upon the bold colour and typography of Chinese propaganda posters and ephemera from the 1960s and 70s — a key moment in the development of the first-generation of contemporary Chinese artists who come to public attention in the following decades.

The exhibition includes artworks by Ai Weiwei, Cai Guo-Qiang, Cao Fei, Chu Yun, Duan Jianyu, Hu Xiangqian, Huang Yong Ping, Kan Xuan, Liu Chuang, Liu Wei, Lu Chunsheng, Madein Company, Pak Sheung Chuen, Qui Anxiong, Sun Xun, Xu Zhen, Xue Tao, Yang Fudong, Zhang Ding, Zhang Huan, Zhou Tao og Zhou Zixi.
