Zak Group art directed the Spring/Summer 2022 issue of Fact magazine, continuing its collaboration with the pioneering art and music platform. The second issue presents four covers presenting Caterina Barbieri, Klein, Ivan Michael Blackstock and Malibu, with photography by Gabriel Moses, Jim C, Nedd and Furmaan Ahmed, as well as original contributions from artists including Dominique Gonzalez-Foerster, UVA, Actual Objects and Tavares Strachan.

Conceived as an exhibition in print, the issue’s 12 extended features opens with a unique title page followed by performance documentation, “page works”, film stills and original photography. The magazine’s art direction combines a free approach to images with rule-based typography, creating a collision between text and imagery.

This latest launch coincides with the next instalment in Fact’s exhibition programme. The group show Future Shock invites 14 artists—including Ryoichi Kurokawa, Caterina Barbieri and Ruben Spini, Lawrence Lek, Gener8ion, Gaika, Nonotak and Object Blue—working across generative and interactive algorithms, AI and 3D digital mapping, laser work, holographic projections and electronic music.
